Neonatal Galactose
Labsystems Diagnostics Neonatal Galactose is a quantitative fluorometric test designed for the measurement of total galactose from dried blood spot samples. The test combines the determination of free galactose and ...

Overview
The test operates through a two-step enzymatic process:
- Galactose Cleavage : Galactose is released from galactose-1-phosphate.
- Fluorometric Reaction : The liberated galactose undergoes an enzymatic reaction that produces a fluorogenic product. The fluorescence intensity is directly proportional to the total galactose content in the sample.
