Dr G.S.K. Velu, Chairman & Managing Director

Man who dreams of making India a self-sufficient nation in terms of medical technology, expertise and quality healthcare is Dr. GSK Velu.

Dr. Velu has been awarded several recognition and has been named as "parallel entrepreneur" by Forbes and "first generation serial entrepreneur" by many but one thing he will always be - a proud waiver of the Indian flag in the face of tough international competition.

Dr. Velu's vision, determination and futuristic approach to make healthcare affordable to one and all made it possible for the tens of thousands of Indians who accessed medical technology, diagnostic services, eye care, dental care and dialysis services which otherwise used to be a very costly affair and hence unaffordable for the common man.

Making Healthcare Accessible and Affordable not only to Indian Population but to the underprivileged population across the world is the vision for which he is working for over 27 years from 1988 in the Corporate World. All his corporate ventures work with one goal of improving access and affordability for Healthcare across the Globe with specific relevance to Under Developed/ Developing market.

Under the current portfolio, Dr. Velu is Chairman and Managing Director, Trivitron Healthcare Pvt. Ltd., Largest Indian Medical Technology Company in the world, Founder and Chairman of Maxivision Eye Care Hospitals- a Medfort Hospitals Initiative. Pioneers in Laser Surgery in India and Founder and Director, Alliance Medicorp Ltd. & Alliance Dental Ltd., largest chain of Dental hospitals & largest chain of Dialysis Clinics in India and Anchor Investor at Stakeboat Capital, Private Equity Fund. Dr. G.S.K. Velu was also an ex co-promoter of Metropolis Healthcare Limited, a pan-India chain of pathology and diagnostic centers, which he exited in the year 2015.

Education: A Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy from the Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS), Pilani, MBA from Loyola Institute of Business Administration and a Doctorate from IBAM, Kolkata he worked with different global organizations gaining experience in medical technology.

In 1997, Trivitron was founded by Dr.Velu and tied up with several world leaders in medical technology to cater to over 20 medical specialties across India. He also established the Trivitron Medical Technology Park, South Asia's first state-of-the-art medical technology manufacturing facility and the Trivitron Innovation Center, a center of excellence for biomedical research & development and design at IIT Madras. Recently, Trivitron and University of Tartu, Estonia has joined hands forming the basis of a broad scientific cooperation and furthering of medical education between India and Estonia.

Partha Sarthi De, Executive Director & Group CFO

Mr Partha Sarathi De has graduated in Science with Hons in Economics from Presidency College, Kolkata. He is the Associate Member of the Institute of Chartered Accounts of India and The Institute of Cost and Works Accountants of India. He has also completed certificate programs on Project Management and Strategy Management from Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Kolkata and Indian School of Business (ISB) Hyderabad respectively. He did his Article Ship from Price Waterhouse, Kolkata. He has 27 years post qualification Experience Out of which he is working as CFO / Group CFO Level for last 15 years in various Big Indian Industrial Houses. His last few assignments are as Chief Financial Officer and Head- Information Technology & BPR with Panacea Biotec Ltd at New Delhi, President Glass Group with Piramal Glass Ltd at Mumbai, President - Finance with Hero Cycle Ltd at Ludhiana, Chief Financial Officer with Bombay Dyeing & Mfg Co Ltd at Mumbai, AVP-Commercial with Indo Rama Synthetics (I) Ltd at Nagpur, Financial Controller with Arvind Mills Ltd at Ahmedabad

He has excellent exposure in Finance, Accounts, Controllership, SCM, Taxation, Commercial, Information Technology / SAP, Business Process Re-Engineering, Management Accounting, Strategy Management, M & A, Treasury and Banking related activities. His tenure in Trivitron Healthcare began with effect from 1st Dec 2014 as Group CFO and he has been elevated to Executive Director & Group CFO Position with effect from 1st October 2015. Currently he is the Board member of Trivitron Health Care Ltd and other JV and subsidiary companies of Trivitron.

Chandra Ganjoo, Executive Director & Group CPO

Ms. Chandra, a post graduate in business management & international marketing joined Trivitron in 1999. She has rich expertise in Medical Systems and Diagnostics Healthcare sector working in HR, administration and marketing departments. She has been strategically supporting Trivitron with proper HR endowment and deployment to achieve corporate vision and creating an edge over competition in the Medtech industry. During 15 years with Trivitron, she has been instrumental in creating a robust team of professionals across sales, service and support departments. Chandra has significant exposure in wide range of HR and administrative roles including international joint ventures.

P Perianayagam, Group COO

P Perianayagam has rich experience of over 27 years rendering customer support service and Strategic Biz support in medical technology space in leading multinational as well as lndian medical technology companies. His experience also includes technical support, business management, service franchise operations, spare parts supply chain management, healthcare project management, construction management, M&A, post merger integration etc. His strength has been strategy development/deployment, biz development, talent pool creation, building team, training and development and delivering high quality services at affordable cost forcustomer delight. He has successfully managed 120 cr customer support business with P&L responsibility through a team of 120 professionals and 25 channel partners across South Asian markets including Bangladesh, Nepal and Sri Lanka. He has also served as project manager for the 200 cr international Healthcare project under Dutch aid. At Trivitron, he is responsible for strategy development/deployment and new biz development initiatives. He is also responsible in building and supporting the Middle East and African market business initiatives.

Prof. Selvakumar, Chief of Manufacturing operations - Labsystems Diagnostics IVD Factory

Dr.Selvakumar worked in the Department of Clinical Biochemistry, Christian Medical College, as a Professor. He started his career there in 1976 and soon became a Professor in the Department of Clinical Biochemistry. In the year 2000, he became the Head of the department and remained in the same position till his retirement in 2014. It was during his tenure, the Department of Clinical Biochemistry got accredited by the Indian National Board (NABL/ISO 15189:2007). Dr.Selvakumar was entirely responsible for the day to day running of this active laboratory which receives about 5000 patient samples and produces an average of 14000 results per day.

He completed his operator training in Germany for Hitachi 705, Hitachi 704 and Hitachi 911 analyzers. He is an expert, who can operate and trouble shoot Chemistry analyzers like Hitachi, Roche modular P800, ISE900, Olympus 2700and 640. He also has the thorough knowledge of PerkinElmer atomic absorption spectrophotometer, Immunite 2000 Chemiluminescence system and Siemens Centaur system.

During his Post doctoral work at the Hershey Medical Center, USA, he learnt to raise the antibodies against many proteins, along with labeling antigens or antibodies with I-125. He can also perform therapeutic drug monitoring, including Cyclosporine using Emit kits and CEDIA kits. He is the brain behind the execution of the Pneumatic Chute System for blood sample transportation in his hospital, which is the first of its kind in India.

Students, both at the Graduate level and the Postgraduate levels, namely MD Biochemistry, MD Pathology, M.Sc. Biochemistry, MBBS, B.Sc. Medical Laboratory Technology and Biochemistry Technician Trainees got benefited by his teachings. He conducted several workshops for laboratory staff all over the country and has won awards for his outstanding service which includes the AJ Thakur Award by the Association of Clinical Biochemists of India in 2012 for meritorious service in Clinical Biochemistry in India.

In terms of efficient administration, he was in various posts like the Registrar for Academic affairs, Council Secretary and the General Superintendent of CMC Hospital. He was responsible for providing water, electricity, procurement of equipment, civil engineering, building maintenance, waste disposal, security, appointment of III and IV class workers (more than 2000 nos) their promotions, discipline of workers, dealing with court cases on behalf of the institution, procurement of land for the development of the new hospital and many more during his tenure as the General Superintendent. He is the executive committee member of the Association of Clinical Biochemists of India and Convener of the EQAS committee of the Association.

He is one of the members of the expert committee of Indian Council of Medical research (ICMR) to establish the Reference Intervals for Indian population. More than 30 research papers in national and international journals were published by him.

A. Manickam, Director - International Relations & CSR

Aladiyan Manickam joined the Indian Foreign Service (IFS) in 1980. Before joining the Indian Foreign Service he worked for Indian Overseas Bank (IOB) as officer for two years (1978-80). He did his M.Com from Loyola College, Chennai (1976-78)

His first assignment abroad was at the Embassy of India, Cairo in 1982, where he studied Arabic as his compulsory foreign language (CFL). He did a two years course in Modern Standard Arabic at the American University in Cairo.

Later he was posted as Commercial secretary at the Indian Embassies in Muscat, Oman (1984-87), Budapest, Hungary (1987-90) and Damascus, Syria (1990-94).

Back in India, from 1994 till 1996 at the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), he worked as Director (Europe west) and Director (Foreign secretary's office).

In 1996, he was assigned to the Permanent Mission of India (PMI) to the United Nations, New York. He headed the political section in the PMI.

In 1999, He joined the Embassy of India, Jakarta, Indonesia. He worked there as Deputy Chief of the Mission till 2012.

During the next six years he worked as Deputy High Commissioner in the Indian High commissions in Canberra, Australia (2002-05) and Colombo, Sri Lanka (2005-08).

He returned to India in2008 and as worked as Joint Secretary and Headed the Gulf Division & Hajj Divisions. In 2009 he appointed as the Chief Passport Officer (CPO) of India and the head of the Consular, Passport and Visa Division, MEA.

He was the Head of the Passport Seva Project and set up the 7 pilot projects (Passport Seva Kendra, PSK) in Karnataka and Chandigarh.

In 2010, he was nominated as the Ambassador of India to Finland and later Estonia. He retired from IFS in August 2014.

He was born in 1954.He is married and has two daughters and one son.

Satyaki Banerjee, President - Kiran Medical Systems

Satyaki Banerjee joined the leadership team of Trivitron Group of Companies in March 2015.
Based in Navi Mumbai; Satyaki is responsible for the global commercial operations of Kiran Medical Systems in addition to managing the North America, APAC, Russia and Eastern European business of Labsystems Diagnostics Oy. He is also responsible for leading Strategic Alliances, Regulatory Affairs and Intellectual Property functions within the Trivitron Group.
Prior to joining Trivitron; he was Vice President of International Business Development at Panacea Biotec.
Satyaki has 19 years of experience in the Healthcare and Pharmaceutical Industry with extensive experience of managing operations, strategic alliances and research and development collaborations in North America, European Union and Emerging Markets.
Satyaki has a degree in science from Delhi University with post graduate professional qualifications in the field of information technology, business management, drug design and patents.

Dr. Geraldine Carrard, CEO - Labsystems Diagnostics OY (A Trivitron Enterprise)

Dr. Geraldine Carrard received her PhD in biochemistry from Pasteur Institute and University Denis Diderot in Paris. After her post-doc in 'Biochemistry of Human Aging', she moved to the Pharma industry as Senior Scientist in Aventis Pharma to work on Postgenomic High Throughput Assay Development Platform.

Within few years she was hired at AniLabsystems as Head of Research and Development and enlarged drastically the company's product portfolio and supported various business development functions. In 2012, Geraldine was appointed the Business Development Director at Cerba European Lab, CSS division, and grew its business by 4-folds in 2 years.

Since November 2014, Geraldine joined Labsystems Diagnostics Oy as Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director. She has a long standing expertise in Clinical Diagnostics and a comprehensive view of the IVD business, she is also leading the Global R&D initiative for IVD branch of the Trivitron Healthcare group.

Sameer D Saral, COO - Labsystems Diagnostics OY (A Trivitron Enterprise)

Sameer D Saral has a M.Sc (Tech) in Instrumentation from BITS, Pilani. He has around 26 years of experience in the Indian Medical Technology space and has handled sales, marketing and technical service of entire range of diagnostics products throughout the country. Earlier he was the Head of Technical Support Division of Ciba Corning Diagnostics / Chiron Diagnostics (South Asia region). Sameer is one of the founders of Trivitron Group and possesses enormous market knowledge of the Indian diagnostics industry. He has also handled the imaging business in the past and is now handling the group operations, manufacturing activities for the diagnostics products of Trivitron, regulatory affairs and the ophthalmology division's business.

Nitin Jayram Sawant, Sr. Vice President - Referral Diagnostics

Nitin Sawant is a research post graduate in Biochemistry and has worked for 10 years in clinical research laboratory. Later, he joined Chiron Diagnostics, USA for Nucleic Acid Diagnostics. He has also worked in Bayer Diagnostics. Mr Nitin joined Trivitron in 2000 as its National Technical Manager handling responsibility of application and service support for diagnostics. He then started handling responsibility of product management also. With his experience in laboratory and in various segments of diagnostics, he currently heads the diagnostics division.

Prema. R, Vice President - Finance, Imaging/CLSS

Prema. R holds a masters degree in Financial Management and has more than 25 years of experience in finance &accounts, budgeting, MIS reports and statutory compliance. She has worked with reputed Indian companies like the Butterfly Group (home appliances), Dharani Group (cements, finance, sugars and hotels) and the K.G. Group (textiles), MAK group (textiles). She has been with Trivitron for the past 14 years as the organization's group financial controller.
