Johnson Medical, Sweden announces Joint Venture with Trivitron Healthcare
To manufacture Modular Operation Theatres & Pendants in India ~
New Delhi, 24th June’10: Trivitron Healthcare, the largest medical technology solutions provider of Indian origin has today announced its alliance with Johnson Medical, Sweden to manufacture high end and mobile modular OTs and Pendants. Through this tie up, Johnson Medical will manufacture Modular OTs and Pendants by setting up its manufacturing facility in Trivitron Medical Technology Park.
Johnson Medical, Sweden is one of the leading global medical solution providers specializing in Operating Room Solutions which includes of Medical Gas Piping, Sterile Operating Rooms, Heat Ventilation and Air Conditioning and other services. Johnson Medical owns more than 35 patented products, and has patented product in OT areas and solutions, which gives the highest standards in the industry like out guided Airflow system which is an ultra clean environment plus energy saving for the dynamics of surgery.
Trivitron has set up South Asia’s first Trivitron Medical Technology Park to manufacture MT products of highest standards in a cost effective manner in India for India and emerging markets of the world. TMTP will house over ten MNCs who pioneer in medical technology areas to manufacture medical technology products in the facility. The facility will focus in the areas of cardiac care, critical care, renal care, laboratory diagnostics, surgical technology, Operating room, medical devices, imaging products etc.
Trivitron has recently signed a MoU with IIT Madras for setting up “Trivitron Innovation Center”, India’s first industry-academic partnership in the medical technology space to research, develop and design bio medical devices in IIT to offer own design, innovative and cost effective medical technology solutions to India and other emerging markets. The center will focus on inventions in Medical Technology, invent new concepts, design unique products and obtain patents with an access to brilliant scientists and academicians in IIT campus.

As these products, once manufactured in India, would be at least 30 to 40 per cent cheaper than imported and even hospitals or institutions in rural areas of the country would be able to afford.”

Over 90% of the Operation Theatres in our country are not able to meet the IIC (International Infection Control) norms, due to a lack of affordability in the High End Modular OT Technology. Now with the indigenization initiative, Trivitron will provide a cost effective solution for the entry level as well as the premium level requirements by using patented Johnson Medical technology. In due course of time Trivitron will also focus on the Digital OT & other innovative Modular Solution which will be rolled out from its Johnson Trivitron OT Solution Division.

This alliance, besides catering to the domestic market, would be a hub for exports to other emerging markets of the world. The new arrangement will not only improve service for customers but also accelerate the introduction of cost effective, affordable and quality healthcare solutions.
Ms Englam further added that post this initiative, Johnson Medical will merge with Trivitron in India and will operate as Johnson Trivitron division within Trivitron and Johnson Trivitron will leapfrog into the high-growth medical equipment market in India and sharpen the competitive edge by tapping into local know-how of applications for that market. In the meantime, expanding our base in India will also help us to serve international markets”.
