A Scientific Symposium on “Real Time PCR in Clinical Molecular Diagnostics” was held at Chennai on 1st February (in Hotel Taj Coromandel) and at Mumbai on 2nd February (in Hotel Taj Lands End) by Trivitron India and artus GmbH, Germany to formally launch the artus products. Artus has appointed Trivitron Diagnostics Pvt. Ltd. as their only authorized Distributor for Indian Subcontinent from January 2005. The Guest Speaker was Dr. Finn Zedler, Ph.D., Managing Director, artus Malaysia. He spoke about the advantages of using the RT PCR over conventional PCR, RT PCR Technology and the high quality of artus kits with reference to validation, accuracy and precision. He also highlighted the advantages of CE mark for Molecular Diagnostic Laboratory as compared to home brewed / non-standardized non-validated kits.

The Symposium was attended by leading Virologists & Microbiologists from in and around the Region. All attendees showed keen interest in the technology and products, which was obvious from their interaction with the Speaker.
