Trivitron Acquires Vision Engineering

Chennai, October 2nd, 2008 :
Trivitron Healthcare acquired Pune based Vision Engineering Pvt Ltd (formerly Siddalakshmi Engineering), an X-ray machine manufacturing company.

Trivitron Group of companies, the largest player of Indian origin in the Medical Technology Industry, today announced its acquisition as a part of its growth plan through indigenous manufacturing of Medical Technology. Trivitron currently operates in the fields of Medical Instruments, Diagnostics, Medical Consumables and Healthcare IT.

Trivitron Group has a current sales turnover of Rs 250 croreand has been growing at 30% per annum with 400 employees, 18 offices and 200 dealers across India. This distributor agreement will provide Trivitron an access to the Rs 2000 crore medical devices market in India

Vision Engineering has been manufacturing X-Ray machines for brands such as GE and L&T. According to Dr.G.S.K.Velu, Managing Director, Trivitron Group of Companies, the company would now modernize the facility and start manufacturing X-ray machines and market under the brand “Pride”. Trivitron has already invested 250 crore in creating a Medical Technology park near Chennai, and as a part of its two prong strategy of Patented and Generic manufacturing facilities of Medical Technology products, Vision Engineering was acquired. Trivitron would invest Rs.100 crore for the patented equipment facility. Another 100 crore of investments into the Medical Technology Park would be shared by its Joint Venture partners from across the globe. Trivitron also has secured USD 11 million private equity investment from HSBC Private Equity (Asia) fund and ePlanet Venture.
