Trivitron, the largest medical technology provider of Indian origin has today announced its alliance with Brandon Medical, U.K to manufacture advanced technology Operation Theatre Lights. Through this tie-up, Brandon Medical will manufacture shadow less lights used for operation theatres by setting up its manufacturing facility at Trivitron’s Medical Technology Park in Chennai, India.

Located in Leeds, England, Brandon Medical UK, is one of the leading manufacturers of lights for operation theatres. The company designs and manufacture its range of products which caters to the requirements of the international market. Brandon Medical product range include operating theatre lamps, mobile operating lamps, minor surgical / examination lamps, surgeons control panels and emergency power systems.

Says Graeme Hall,Managing Director, Brandon Medical, “With India becoming the most favourite destination in the world for healthcare, matching its infrastructure and technology with those in UK, Europe and USA, we decided to expand our operations by setting up a manufacturing facility in India. We have identified Trivitron which is creating a first-of-its-kind, world class medical technology park in Chennai, India. This will be the first facility in India for the manufacturing of the most advanced lights for operation theatres and production of the same is expected to commence by the end of 2009.”

As these products, once manufactured in India, would be at least 30 to 40 per cent cheaper than imported and even hospitals or institutions in rural areas of the country would be able to afford.”

Brandon carry out installation and commissioning work in hospitals and offer servicing on all types of operating lamps. The company also distributes spares and consumables for operating theatre luminaries and is working to expand this side of the business. The Company design and manufacture a number of bespoke products for other medical equipment companies.
